Hey Reader,
If you've opened emails from me in the past, you probably already know I'm passionate about making one case, over and over: the strategies you've already learned can work for you.
They just need one more layer – the personalisation that makes them fit a specific human rather than a theoretical one.
This week I want to show you what that actually looks like. Not in theory. In practice. With a specific framework I use with every client and apply to my own business decisions, drawn directly from Human Design.
This is the piece where we stop talking about the concept and start looking at the mechanics.
Most Human Design content will tell you your type and authority and then leave you to figure out the rest. Which is useful up to a point – and then not, because knowing you’re a Manifesting Generator with sacral authority doesn’t tell you what to do with your content strategy or your offer structure or the client enquiry sitting in your inbox.
What it doesn’t tell you is that your chart contains eight specific forces that are actively shaping your business whether you know about them or not. Eight activation points that influence everything from how your brand is perceived, to where your sustainable energy comes from, to how money moves toward you, to the environment your business actually needs to thrive.
When these are aligned – when the decisions you make are congruent with what these forces are pointing toward – business has a quality of ease that isn’t about working less. It’s about working in the right direction. When they’re not aligned, everything feels harder than it should. Not because something is wrong with you. Because the strategy is pointing one way and your design is pointing another.
The 8 Forces
01 Conscious Sun Your life work and the core of your brand. The energy you’re here to express most visibly.
02 Conscious Earth Your growth edge and the place where your evolution happens. What grounds everything you build.
03 Unconscious Sun Your sustainable energy source. The quality that keeps working even when you’re not thinking about it.
04 Unconscious Earth Your purpose. Often the thing that feels most natural and is therefore most invisible to you.
05 Unconscious Mars Your mastery. The specific domain where your depth and capability go furthest.
06 Unconscious Jupiter Your business environment. The conditions under which everything works better.
07 Conscious Jupiter Your relationship with money and expansion. How growth actually moves toward you.
08 Conscious Mercury Your communication. How your voice lands and what makes people listen when you speak.
Let me show you how this works in practice – using my own chart as the example.
My Conscious Sun sits in Gate 23 – the gate of Assimilation, with the gift of Simplicity. Which means my brand works best when I take something complex and make it clear, direct, and immediately usable. The content that lands most consistently isn’t the most comprehensive – it’s the most distilled. Every time I’ve tried to pack everything I know into a single piece of work, something has felt off. Gate 23 is pulling me toward the essential point, the thing that changes how someone thinks, not the exhaustive version of everything I could say.
My Conscious Mercury – the communication force – sits in Gate 27, the gate of Caring, with the gift of Altruism. Which explains something I used to find puzzling about my own content: the pieces that travel furthest are never the ones that showcase what I know. They’re the ones that are genuinely useful to the person reading them. Gate 27 communicates through service – through the question ‘how does this actually help her?’ rather than ‘how does this demonstrate my expertise?’ When I write from that place, the work lands differently. When I forget it, the writing feels flat even when the information is good.
My Unconscious Jupiter – the business environment force – also sits in Gate 23. Simplicity again. Which means the environment my business needs isn’t just in the content I create – it’s in the structure of how I work. Streamlined offers. Clear delivery. No unnecessary complexity in the client experience. Every time I’ve added layers – more tiers, more options, more moving parts – I’ve felt it before I’ve been able to articulate why. My design keeps pulling me back toward the simplest version that actually works. That’s not a limitation. That’s Gate 23 doing its job.
And my Unconscious Mars – the mastery force – sits in Gate 60, the gate of Limitations, with the gift of Realism. Which is perhaps the most clarifying of all. My deepest mastery isn’t in showing people what’s possible. It’s in helping them see what’s real – what the actual constraints are, what the genuine next step looks like given who they specifically are and how they’re specifically built. Gate 60 doesn’t deal in fantasy. It deals in what’s structurally true. That’s why the most useful thing I can offer someone is never a vision. It’s a clear-eyed read of what’s actually happening and what would genuinely change it.
Every strategy I’ve ever tried that didn’t work was fighting at least one of these forces. Every decision that felt right was working with them.
This is what I mean by the personalisation layer. It’s not about changing the strategies you use. It’s about understanding which version of any strategy is congruent with the specific forces running your business – and which version is asking you to work against yourself every single day.
How to start applying this
You don’t need to understand your full chart to begin working with this framework. You need three things: your chart pulled from a free generator, someone who can decode these eight specific activation points in plain language, and the willingness to run your current decisions through what they reveal. You can reference this reel on my Instagram to see where the gates are located on your chart. This Gene Keys Cheat Sheet will help you identify your key gifts and shadows.
Some practical questions to ask once you have your eight forces decoded:
Does my current offer reflect my Conscious Sun – the core energy I’m here to express? Or am I selling something adjacent to it because it seemed more marketable?
Is my content voice aligned with my Conscious Mercury – the way my communication naturally lands? Or am I writing in a style that works for someone else’s design because that’s what the advice said to do?
Does my relationship with money feel clear or complicated right now? Your Conscious Jupiter is the force that governs how abundance moves toward you – and when it operates in its shadow frequency, it has a way of overcomplicating what your success is supposed to look like. The question isn’t whether you’re working hard enough. It’s whether you’ve drifted from what actually matters to you about the business you’re building – and whether that drift is quietly blocking the flow.
These questions don’t require you to dismantle what you’ve built. They require you to look at what you’ve built through a specific lens – and adjust where the friction is highest.
That’s the work. Not more strategy. Your strategy. Adapted to the eight forces that are running your business whether you’re working with them or against them.
This framework – the 8 forces, decoded and applied specifically to your chart and your business – is the foundation of the Aligned Business Blueprint. It’s where every blueprint starts: not with what you should be doing, but with what your design is already pointing toward. Everything that follows is about making your existing decisions and strategies congruent with that.
If this is the piece that has finally made Human Design feel like something you can actually use rather than something you know about – the Aligned Business Blueprint is the next step.
Kindest,
Cat
